Youth Ministry Team

Purpose:
To discern vision and provide direction for Church of God youth ministries in North America
History:
The Youth Ministry Team (YMT) came into existence to help support local Church of God congregations in their ministry with youth. This team gives much-needed representation for youth ministry across the United States and Canada. The leader of Youth and Family Ministries at Church of God Ministries in Anderson, Ind., leads the team.

Chip Taylor is a captivating speaker with a contagious love for Jesus and a huge heart for teenagers. He is passionate about empowering leaders, caring for hurting students and impacting the world for Christ. Chip loves fishing, golfing, football, date nights with his wife and daddy date days with his kids. A graduate of Mid-America Christian University, Chip has been in ministry since 1993 and is currently the student ministries pastor at Bayside Church in Safety Harbor, Fla. Chip resides in Tampa with his wife, Lori, his daughter, Leah, and his son, Caleb. Contact Chip here. |

A graduate of Ball State University, Tami Byrd earned a Bachelor's degree in education and has been in youth ministry since 1997. She currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Children and Youth at South Memorial Drive Chruch of God in New Castle, Ind. Tami has led workshops at state conventions and other youth events and enjoys speaking at camps, retreats and in a variety of other settings. Tami is passionate about teaching and mentoring young people--she believes that Christian students are called to be ministers of Jesus Christ and that God can and does work through them to build His Kingdom. Currently the Senior High Pastor at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Ind., Eric Reeder has been in youth ministry for over 14 years. Eric speaks at retreats, conventions, schools and leadership conferences bringing a message of truth, hope and identity in Christ. He previously served the local and state youth ministry in W. Va. from 1996-2009. Eric graduated from Anderson University in 1996 with a B.A. in Education. Prior to his youth pastorate, he was a high school teacher and coach for four years. Eric and his wife, Marsha, have been married for seven years and he has two stepsons, Daniel and Dallas. Eric loves working out, golfing, dates with his wife, family nights at home, Chick-fil-A, Tim Horton's coffee and Ohio State. Eric is passionate about pouring into emerging leaders and has a heart for empowering all students to find hope and purpose for life in God. Contact Eric here. |

Chris and his wife Candi have been in student ministry since 1986. After graduating from Warner Pacific College, Chris invested his first four years at College Park Church of God in Long Beach, Calif. In 1990, he started at the First Church of God in Saint Joseph, Mich., where he continues to lead student ministries. He also leads worship and speaks for retreates, camps and conferences. The most fulfilling aspect of ministry for Chris is to help people discover a passion to use their gifts and abilities to lead and serve others. Contact Chris here. |

Andy holds a bachelor's degree from Mid-America Bible College, a master's degree from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington. After serving as a youth pastor for almost a decade, Andy came on staff as the leader of Youth and Family Ministries at Church of God Ministries in Anderson, Ind. He co-authored The Ultimate Adventure, a four-level discipleship series that helps equip teenagers to use their God-given gifts for the Kingdom. Andy and his wife Candace were married in 2005 and welcomed a baby daughter, Mackenzie in 2007. Andy is passionate about teenagers and seeing God use them to impact their world. He speaks to youth in various settings across the nation and is focused on helping to raise up a new generation of Christ-centered leaders. Contact Andy here.
