Testimony from Hong Kong

For the second time, Spread the Word has enabled the Church of God in Hong Kong to run the God Teens summer internship program. The Church of God in Hong Kong now has 200 people, 80% of whom are under the age of 26. We currently have four pastors-in-training who work full-time and receive a salary. One has finished her seminary training, two more are currently in seminary, and the last one will begin in fall 2008. All of their education is covered by the church.

In addition to the intensive Pastors-in-Training program, which is for members over the age of 23 who want to enter into Church of God ministry as a career, the God Teens program exposes our teens to the rigors and excitement of life in ministry at a young age. Each year, approximately 5 to 10 juniors and seniors give up their summer work plans to join the 6-day a week intensive internship. The result is young people who are very aware of what ministry entails and who have not only developed leadership skills, but had their faith tested and refined.
